Happy Wheels has been released just as the tragic and blasphemous demise of Flash is imminent. That was an intense moment! We apologize for any inconvenience caused and hope that the stress of losing Flash didn’t interfere with your sleep. If you weren’t aware that this project was in progress, here’s some exciting news for you.
As this is the game’s first public release, please bear with us as we work to resolve any remaining bugs. While I still prefer Flash, what I particularly appreciate about this version is its excellent performance on mobile devices. Currently, however, on-screen mobile controls are not available in this release—they will be added in the next update. Thank you for your patience!
If you’re eager to try it out on your phone right now, a Bluetooth keyboard works perfectly. Although I initially claimed the game would run at 60 frames per second, some of the more challenging levels may experience slower performance at that rate. Fortunately, this setting is adjustable, and I’m considering hosting a separate version optimized for 60 Hz for users with high-end CPUs.
The rest of the game, Happy Wheels JS, aims to faithfully replicate the original in both design and gameplay. The user database, levels, and replays remain unchanged since the initial release. The only thing lost is the imminent doom of the universe’s end!
